The Word of H.E. Ambassador of Belgium It is my great privilege to serve as the Ambassador of Belgium to Um El Donia, a country with a rich history, a vibrant culture, and a significant regional influence.
The relationship between Belgium and Egypt is built on a strong and longstanding foundation, marked by decades of political, economic, and cultural exchanges. Our two nations share a history of constructive dialogue and mutual respect, fostering cooperation in various fields.
We remain firmly committed to political dialogue and coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest. Regular high-level meetings ensure that our discussions remain dynamic and responsive to emerging challenges.

On the economic and commercial level, our goal is to further strengthen trade and investment cooperation. Belgium actively supports its companies seeking to expand into the Egyptian market, and we encourage partnerships that foster economic growth. Belgian firms are already engaged in major projects in energy, port infrastructure, and green hydrogen which are promising fields for the future.
A fine example is the construction of the Grand Egyptian Museum, carried out by a consortium including Orascom and Besix, a dynamic Belgian Egyptian contractor. This landmark project showcases Belgian expertise in construction and highlights our commitment to Egypt's ongoing transformation. In this regard, the role played by the Egyptian Belgian Business Association is fundamental to foster our trade and investment relations. By offering its members information on the Belgian and Egyptian markets and regulations, EBBA plays an essential role to enhance the ease of doing business between our countries. Together with the trade and investment office of Flanders, which is also representing the Wallonia and Brussels regions, we can jointly offer a qualitative service for companies in Belgium and Egypt. As ambassador I'm privileged and honored by this collaboration.

Cultural ties between our countries are also a key priority. We are working on organizing cultural events and concerts that will celebrate the diversity and creativity of Belgium. Additionally, archaeological cooperation plays a significant role in our bilateral relations. Belgium is highly active in this field, with four Belgian archaeological missions conducting excavations and research in Egypt. These missions contribute to Egypt's international cultural image, and we seek to further strengthen collaboration with Egyptian archaeological institutions.
Last but not least, a crucial area of cooperation is humanitarian and medical support, particularly in Gaza. Given Egypt's pivotal role in this humanitarian effort, we will continue coordinating with Egyptian authorities and international partners to sustain humanitarian efforts and improve living conditions in the region.

تشارك الشركات البلجيكية بالفعل في مشاريع كبرى في مجال الطاقة و البنية التحتية للميناء والهيدروجين الأخضر، والتي تعد مجالات واعدة للمستقبل.
ومن الأمثلة الجيدة على ذلك بناء المتحف المصري الكبير، الذي نفذه اتحاد يضم أوراسكوم وبيسيكس - وهو مقاول مصري بلجيكي ديناميكي. ويعرض هذا المشروع التاريخي الخبرة البلجيكية في مجال البناء كما يسلط الضوء على التزامنا بالتحول المستمر في مصر
وفي هذا الصدد فإن الدور الذي تلعبه جمعية رجال الأعمال البلجيكية المصرية أساسي لتعزيز علاقاتنا التجارية والاستثمارية كما تلعب (EBBA) دورا أساسيا في تعزيز سهولة ممارسة الأعمال التجارية بين بلدينا، من خلال تزويد أعضائها بمعلومات حول الأسواق واللوائح البلجيكية والمصرية يمكننا تقديم خدمة نوعية بشكل مشترك للشركات في بلجيكا ومصر، جنبا إلى جنب مع مكتب التجارة والاستثمار في (فلاندرز) ، الذي يمثل أيضا منطقتي (والونيا) و(بروكسل). وبصفتي سفيرا يشرفني هذا التعاون

وتشكل الروابط الثقافية بين بلدينا أيضا أولوية رئيسية. فنحن نعمل على تنظيم أحداث وحفلات موسيقية ثقافية تحتفل بالتنوع والإبداع في بلجيكا. بالإضافة إلى ذلك ، يلعب التعاون الأثري دورا مهما في علاقاتنا الثنائية. تنشط بلجيكا بشكل كبير في هذا المجال، حيث تقوم أربع بعثات أثرية بلجيكية بإجراء حفريات وأبحاث في مصر. تساهم هذه البعثات في صورة مصر الثقافية الدولية، ونسعى إلى تعزيز التعاون مع المؤسسات الأثرية المصرية
وأخيرا وليس بآخر، يعد الدعم الإنساني والطبي - لا سيما في غزة - أحد مجالات التعاون الحاسمة، نظرا للدور المحوري لمصر في هذا الجهد الإنساني. وسوف نواصل التنسيق مع السلطات المصرية والشركاء الدوليين للحفاظ على الجهود الإنسانية وتحسين الظروف المعيشية في المنطقة

The Word of Mr. Rafik Attia - Chairman of EBBA Major events occurred in Egypt and the whole area during the recent 5 years, and difinitely it had a large impact on both Egypt and Belgium economic relationships.
Egypt is actually living a renainssence on difference economic, social, and cultural aspects. The new infrastructure, power, and huge construction projects for youth, as well complete reform of economic and investment legislations all are having a large positive impact on the business community.
Efforts are concentrated on encouraging the return of tourism, as well local & foreign investments, adding new hopes for the coming near future.
There are positive signs showing the increase trade between Egypt & Belgium during past years, EBBA with its members are having large part in that activity, trying to flourish investment between both countries, besides participating in charity and cultural events.
The Egyptian Embassy in Egypt as well the Egyptian Embassy & Commercial Office in Brussels were always a great support in this development.
