Farewell Dinner to Mr. & Mrs. Ludo Rochette July 27th, 2021
On Tuesday, 27th, 2021, the Egyptian Belgian Business Association (EBBA) offered a Farewell dinner to Mr. Ludo Rochette - Deputy Head of Mission in the Embassy of Belgium in Egypt - and his wife.
The event took place at 7:00 pm at Automobile Club, 10 Kasr El Nil Street in Cairo, in the presence of Mr. Rafik Attia; Chairman of EBBA; Board members, and some members of EBBA.
At the beginning, Mr. Attia welcomed the audience and thanked Mr. Ludo for his good cooperation with EBBA during his mission in Egypt. He wished him success in his new job, wishing to meet again on another occasion in Cairo or in Belgium.
Mr. Rafiq then passed the speech to Mr. Rochette, who thanked him and EBBA members for the kind words and feelings, expressing how pleasant it was during his stay in Cairo among the Egyptian whom he and his wife loved.
After the dinner, Mr. Attia & Board members presented a souvenir to Mr. Ludo & his wife with a farewell and best wishes to them.
The event ended at around 11:00 pm. It was indeed a wonderful event that everybody enjoyed.

Meeting of the General Assembly October 11th, 2021
On Monday, October 11th, 2021, at 5:00 pm, EBBA held a General Assembly meeting for the members, taking into account all anti-Covid 19 measures, in the presence of EBBA board and a large number of members, as well as the Auditor. The event took place at the roof of the Egyptian Automobile Club, located at 10 Kasr El Nil St., Cairo.
The meeting was honored by the presence of:
- H.E. Mr. François Cornet d'Elzius - Ambassador of Belgium in Cairo
- Mr. Ingmar Samyn - Deputy Head of mission & political Consultant of Belgian Embassy in Cairo
- Mr. Karim Abdel Karim Darwish - Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Egyptian Parliament & EBBA honorary member
- Eng. Yaser Omar - Deputy chairman of the Planning and Budget Committee in the Egyptian Parliament
- Mr. Amr Nour el Din - Legal Consultant of the President of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI)
- Mr. Mohamed Yousef - Head of Central Administration - Promotion Division in the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI)
- Mrs. Heba Hussein Gad - Investor Relations Division, who is responsible for Belgian Promotion Division in the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI)
- Mrs. Haguer Magdi - Commercial Attaché in the Belgian Embassy in Cairo
During discussions, EBBA Board & members recommended some proposals that were taken into consideration. At the end, they decided to approve the balance sheet of 2020 & EBBA Bylaw amendments following the decision no. 149 of 2019.
The meeting was followed by a friendly dinner at around 9:00 pm
Indeed, it was a fruitful meeting after such a long pause due to Covid-19 precautions.
